School News - 14 December 2007: Budding Florists Prepare for a Blooming New Year!
What do a nurse, an investment banker, a teacher, a secretary and a chef all have in common? They are among students about to embark on a challenging, exhilarating and colourful course that could change their lives forever.
Early in 2008, Sydney’s next generation of florists will start learning from the experts at Pearsons award-wining school. Their studies will include learning the names and origins of hundreds of flower and plant species, the principles of great design, visits to the flower markets, and – most importantly – time perfecting their hands-on floristry skills.
As part of the renowned Pearsons Florist, the school draws on more than 35 years experience gained running nine stunning Sydney stores, and provides a unique real-life learning environment. Best of all, the Pearsons course is fast-tracked, so students can become work-ready florists – with a nationally recognised qualification – in just one day per week, over one year.
Many graduates of Pearsons School of Floristry have gone on to achieve their dream of working with beautiful flowers every day; you can find Pearsons graduates working in flower shops throughout Australia, and all over the world. Others have created award-winning floristry businesses of their own, or simply enjoy creating floral designs at home, for family and friends.
Wherever floristry takes the Pearsons class of 2008, they will all share a passion for flowers that will last a lifetime. For those considering a career in floristry, the school holds regular information sessions. For details call 9550 7755 today!
